Albert Barber, 77, of Creswell, Oregon passed away June 18, 2014.
He was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Scio, Oregon to Charles and Lila (Tiedeman) Barber.
Albert was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. He worked as a manager/supervisor at many of the local lumber mills for over 30 years.
On Jan. 19, 1957 in Yoder, Oregon, he and Evelyn Wallace were married.
He was an avid horseman and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Barber of Creswell, five daughters, Debra (Roger) Healy of Mesa, Arizona, Terri (James B.) Leach IV of Roseburg, Kathy (Ron) Ward of Cottage Grove, Penny (Colby) Willis of Colbert, Wash. and Patsy (David) Hayes of Cottage Grove, nine brothers and sisters, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Shady Oaks, 77380 Hwy. 99 S., Cottage Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the USO, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements under the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove.
