Ronald Hewson Snyder, 67, passed away from natural causes on Friday, July 19, 2014 at his home in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.
He was born July 20,1946, in Queens, N.Y. and was adopted by William and Janet (Cheyne) Snyder. He graduated from Franklin High School in Somerset, N.J. He graduated from Humboldt State with a B.S. in biology and from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in communication disorders. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in 1968 and worked as a U.S. K9 Dog Handler.
Ron was proud of his two children: daughter Kirsten (Snyder) Yamada and son Sean Snyder. He is also survived by his former wife, Karen Snyder.
Most recently a certified Soma therapist at Belknap Hot Springs, in the past, he worked for the Presbyterian Church and South Lane School District in Cottage Grove. He was an actor at the Ferndale Repertory Theatre in Ferndale, Calif., the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Willamette Repertory Theatre in Eugene. An incredibly intelligent man, Ron enjoyed a life of learning; traveling, hiking, gardening, dancing, singing, learning languages and
was a voracious reader — a true renaissance man.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
