Food systems in local schools, retail and agriculture on the agenda
Participants and panelists at Saturdays’ FEAST event in Cottage Grove will have food on their minds, and they’ll tackle the topic from many angles, according to Beth Pool of Sustainable Cottage Grove.
“It will be a very structured day,” said Pool, who explained that FEAST stands for ““Food, Education, Agriculture, Solutions, Together.” Pool said the event will also be a “working day,” and as such child care is being provided to allow participants to engage in the day’s processes.
The gathering, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, April 5 at the Cottage Grove Community Center, is billed as a collaborative community organizing event that will be led by Oregon Food Bank, and Pool explained that the food bank’s director of rural programs, Sharon Thornberry, will be on hand to facilitate the day’s program.
