The setting and cast were pretty much the same, but the day and time were a bit out of the ordinary for the Cottage Grove City Council, which gathered Saturday morning to narrow down and prioritize its goals for the coming year.
City Manager Richard Meyers described the four-hour meeting as a “good session” that included the Council minus Councilors Jeff Gowing and Victoria Doyle. He said the meeting was a way to “gather the Council’s thoughts and issues” and choose from a list of more general goals for the seven-member legislative body.
“They did a really good job of identifying goals that are related to policy, which is their job as the City Council,” Meyers said. “They removed some goals that were meant to be the function of city administration.”For the complete article see the 02-26-2014 issue.
