Harley Ray Adams, 72, of Salem, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away Jan. 26, 2014 from cancer.
He was born June 12, 1941 in Tacoma, Wash. to Amy (Bullington) and J. Harley Adams.
Harley graduated from high school in Quincy, Wash. and attended College at George Fox College in Newberg, Oregon.
On July 27, 2006 in Marietta, Georgia, he and Virginia Pruitt Sumner were married.
He worked as a building contractor and held a contractor's license in eleven states. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling, reading and helping others. He was a member of Riverside Church of God in Cottage Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, four sons, Jonathan Adams of Lake Oswego, Jack Adams of Tualatin, Matthew Sumner of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Darren Sumner of Olympia, Wash, a brother, Bill J. Adams of San Francisco, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at Newberg Friends Church with private burial.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Community Church of God in Cottage Grove.
