Cottage Grove Police Officer Taylor Smith joined 15 Lincoln Middle School parents and another officer for the school’s annual Parents Invade Campus Day.
This year marks the second occurrence of the event, where volunteers arrived with tools in hand to beautify the school grounds.
“They wanted to help clean up to ensure that staff and students have a campus they can take pride in,” said LMS Vice Principal Tim Broadbent.
Parents worked with school maintenance crews for three hours to clean the school’s courtyards, memorial garden and other areas. The parents also served a meal for the teachers following their clean-up.
