Scoring chances for the Cottage Grove Lions came few and far between against Junction City Friday night. Fortunately for the Lions, a combined air and ground attack found paydirt often enough for a commanding 35-6 win over the Junction City Tigers.

“We didn’t get the ball much, but when we did, we pretty much scored at will,” said Lion Head Coach Gary Roberts. Roberts said his team played “pretty well” against a double-wing offense implemented in Junction City for the first time this season.

“It took us a while to settle in, to get adjusted,” Roberts said. “After about a series and a half, we kind of dominated.”
