Norman “Norm” Glen Struthers, 83, of Cottage Grove passed away Aug. 20, 2013 of age related causes.
He was born July 29, 1930, in Ontario, Ore. to Clarence and Mabel Hannah (Breckon) Struthers.
He graduated from Nampa, Idaho in 1948 and attended BYU. Norm served in the Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic and was a Corporal in the Korean War.
He owned a bicycle shop, was a school bus driver and janitor for the school district, a janitor for Phillips 66 and a janitor and an apprentice electrician for the Atomic Energy Commission.
Norm enjoyed photography, bicycle repair, woodworking, model airplanes, fishing, hunting and tinkering in the shop on his automobiles. He was a Boy Scout leader and member of VFW Post 3473, Rebekahs Lodge #252, Moose Lodge #146 and the American Legion.
Norm married Norma Cole on June 28, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah and later married Evelyn Rose on Sept. 7, 1981, in Payette, Idaho.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Andy) Lemmon of Oklahoma City, Okla., son Carl (Linda) Struthers of Dunedin, Fla., daughter, Laura Woodard of Yukon, Okla., daughter, Janelle (Glade) Oxborrow of Washington, D.C., daughter-in-law, Ashmir Struthers of Edmond, Okla., brother, Clarence Struthers of Spanish Fork, Utah, 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Evelyn Struthers, son, Laron Struthers, grandson, Jacob Oxborrow, brothers, Robert and Buehl Struthers and sister, Cleda McCoy.
Visitation was held Aug. 26 at the LDS Church with a graveside and memorial service following.
