Samuel “Sam” Hover of Creswell died of health-related problems on April 27, 2013.
He was born in Loveland, Colo. on Dec. 20, 1951 to John and Meredith (Robinson) Hover. He graduated from North Eugene High School.
On Nov. 17, 1977 in Reno, Nev., he and Linda Morris were married.
Sam was a car salesman for 25 years, working for every dealer in Eugene and Cottage Grove. He also was a housing custodian at the University of Oregon for 13 years.
He loved old cars, birds and the Oregon Ducks football team.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, a son, Brian Smith, three daughters, Kristal Hover-Martinez of Muskogee, Okla., Dawn Quigley-Bowman of Clackamas and Erika Lynn Hover-Sanchez of Creswell, two brothers, Tim Hover of Eugene and John Hover of Springfield, a sister, Sharon Greenman of Norco, Calif., and eight grandchildren.
A memorial was held at the Hover residence in Creswell on May 4.
