Dean W. Kyle, 84, passed away at home in Sweet Home after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was born in Geneva, Wisc. to Willard and Dorothy (Anderson) Kyle. Dean lived in Wisconsin and Oregon. He practiced developmental Optometry in Prairie du Sac, Wisc., Cottage Grove, Sweet Home and Brownsville.
Dean married his first wife, Mary Ann, in 1954 and together they raised three daughters and enjoyed many aspects of life in the communities where they lived. Mary Ann preceded Dean in death in 2003.
Dean was an active part of the Sweet Home community for many years, involved with Sweet Home Evangelical Church, Lions Club, Kiwanis, and other community organizations. His main passion in life was to travel with a trailer of some kind in tow. Dean enjoyed his association and adventures with the Wally Byam Caravan Club International Airstream RV Owners Association. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers and University of Oregon football fan and enjoyed photography, bow hunting, model railroading and a host of other interests.
In 2006 Dean married Pearl Adams of Shawano, Wisc. and enjoyed his travels with her.
Dean is survived by his daughters, Kimberly and son-in-law Chuck Messick of Sweet Home, Kirsten and son-in-law George Offutt of Sweet Home, and Deanna and son-in-law Ron Emmert of Corvallis, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sweet Home Evangelical Church or Sweet Home Emergency Ministries.
