John M. Roesner (Poppy), 61, passed away Jan. 25, 2013 on McCormick Ridge in Lewiston, Idaho of a heart attack. He was formerly of Cottage Grove.
He was born Sept. 8, 1951 to Ralph and Bette (Phillips) Roesner in Dallas, Ore. He graduated from high school and attended a trade school, receiving a certificate of achievement and project management.
He married Teresa Ledford, the love of his life, on Oct. 2, 1999 in Cottage Grove.
He owned and operated Dig Right Construction and Excavation until 2005. He moved to Idaho in 2006 and went to work for Wittman Farms. He had never farmed but caught on quickly. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He will be greatly missed.
Johnís joy in life was his grandchildren, and he spent a lot of time with them. John also enjoyed building things, telling stories and fishing. He enjoyed shed hunting and collecting old toys. He had a strong love of hot rods and the mountains. We would take drives just to see how may animals we could see.
Poppy is survived by his wife, Teresa Roesner of Winchester; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike Joseph Jr. and Stacee Joseph of New Mexico; daughter, Monica Roesner of Eugene, Ore.; mother-in-law, LaVina Sparhawk of Drain, Ore.; seven grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers and their spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
