John "Jack" Winslow, 81, of Cottage Grove, passed away Jan. 30, 2013.
He was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Roseburg, Ore. to Marion and Hilma (Hendrickson) Winslow.
Jack graduated from Grants Pass High School, Oregon State University and graduated with a BA from Southern Oregon University. He served in the National Guard and taught 6th grade for the Eugene School District. Jack was a Realtor for 50 years in Land Development/Building and Timber Management in Lane and Douglas Counties and developed two Springfield subdivisions.
While in Springfield Jack was President of the Jaycees, a member of the School Board and a Junior First Citizen. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cottage Grove. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and recreational traveling with kids, grandkids and friends.
He was married to Banti Robinson for 57 years.
Survivors include his wife, Banti Winslow of Cottage Grove, two sons, Chris (Linda) Winslow of Creswell, and Kent Winslow of Vida, sister, Marilyn Tullius of Oakland, Calif., sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Ken Kivett of Coburg, three grandchildren, and special friend and business partner, Jim and Ardis Belknap.
He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Winslow.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Cottage Grove.
