Lt. Col. John Arthur Kupsick died Jan. 30, 2013 in Gresham, Ore. at the age of 93. John was born Aug. 3, 1919 in Great Falls, Mont. to John J. and Genevieve (Anderson) Kupsick.
John graduated from Great Falls High School in Montana. He lived in Cottage Grove for 33 years. He had resided in the Portland area for the last seven years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Col. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
John worked in the advertising specialties industry. He belonged to the Elks, VFW, Moose Lodge, Kiwanis, Lions Club and the 10 and 3 Club in Cottage Grove. John was an auctioneer and a member of the Prospectors and Golddiggers club.
John is survived by his five children, John R. Kupsick, of Gresham, Ore., Jim Kupsick, of Cottage Grove, Barbara Montgomery, of Sparks, Nev., Julie Dumas, of Plano, Texas, and Richard Davidson, of Manchester, N.H., 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Donations may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
No public service will be held. Private interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
