Peggy June Johnson 1924-2012

 

Peggy June Johnson, 88, of Cottage Grove died Dec. 31, 2012 from age related causes.

She was born May 24, 1924 in Chanute, Kansas to Ollie and Francis June (Kiser) Umbenhower.

Peggy worked as a motel manager and driver.

She formerly had lived in Long Beach, Calif. and Big Bear Lake, Calif.

Survivors include three sons, Virgil Johnson of Hemet, Calif., Wayne Johnson of Cottage Grove and Frank Johnson of Apple Valley, Calif., a daughter, Sandra Carter of Florida, two brothers, Keith Nichols of San Diego, Calif. and William Nichols, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Johnson, in 1985.

A memorial will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, in Big Bear Lake, Calif. with private burial.
