The Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday afternoon identified the man found deceased on the north side of Dorena Reservoir as Brian Trumbo, a 27-year old Oakland man who had been unaccounted for since Dec. 11, 2012. The cause of death remains under investigation.
On Dec. 27, family members contacted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to state that they hadn’t heard from Trumbo since Dec. 11. Trumbo reportedly left his home in Oakland and was traveling in a green Ford Expedition en route to the Eugene area. Douglas County detectives learned that Trumbo’s car was found abandoned in a creek bed near Dorena Lake by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 12.
Friends and family members organized a search around Dorena Lake on Dec. 31, and on Jan. 2, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office indicated that it had recovered the body of a man believed to be Trumbo on the north side of Dorena Reservoir near the Harms Park boat landing. For the complete article see the 01-09-2013 issue.
