Sonja Marie Parsons, 68, of Cottage Grove died Jan 1, 2013 from cancer.
She was born June 2, 1944 in Eugene, Ore. to J.D. and Gladys (Austin) Robertson.
Sonja graduated from Creswell High School with the class of 1962.
On Jan. 9, 1963 in Goshen, Ore., she and Walt Parsons were married.
Mrs. Parsons worked as a restaurant cook, small business owner, an activities director at Creswell Care Center, a mother and a homemaker.
She enjoyed ceramics, helping people, gardening, reading and arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, five sons, Bill Parsons and wife, Terri, of Cottage Grove, John Parsons and wife, Lisa, of Cottage Grove, Jacob Parsons of Cottage Grove, Zack Parsons and wife, Stephanie, of Washougal, Wash., and Benjamin Parsons and wife, Heidi, of Bend, three daughters, Jennifer Parsons of Cottage Grove, Vandi Parsons of Cottage Grove and Coleen Jentzsch and husband, Troy, of Lorane, a sister, Wanda Stewart of Roseville, Calif., and 26 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Wells.
A memorial was held Jan. 7, 2013 at Living Faith Assembly in Cottage Grove.
