Margey Bowers, 84, of Creswell died Nov. 19, 2012 from age related causes.
She was born July 2, 1928 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Louis and Bertha (Purvis) Satter.
Margey graduated from Creswell High School.
On Aug. 4, 1946 in Creswell, she and Wayne Bowers were married.
Mrs. Bowers worked as a bookkeeper for Wayne Bowers Trucking Inc. She and her husband also did ranching, farming, logging and were in the log trucking business.
She liked working crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Oregon Log Truckers Association, Tri-Community Club and a supporter of Future Farmers of America. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Creswell Chapter of Future Farmers of America.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jayne Bowers of Creswell, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 15, 2008 and by a son, Gary Bowers, in 2006.
A memorial will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Inurnment will be at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery.
