Charles Wade Henderer, 90, of Elkton died Jan. 22, 2010 from natural causes.
He was born April 1, 1919 in Gardner, Ore. to Charles G. and Ina (Weatherly) Henderer.
Charles graduated from Elkton High School and attended Oregon Agricultural College (OAC).
On Oct. 15, 1939 in Portland, Ore., he married Marcelle Eileen Weigel.
Mr. Henderer was a police officer, farmer, clerked for the school district in Elkton and had a school bus route.
He collected stamps and coins and was on a bowling team for years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his grand kids very much. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elkton Christian Church and served as Mayor of Elkton.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Henderer and wife, Shirley, of Corvallis and Robert Henderer of Elkton, a daughter, Diana Wills and husband, Tom, of Bend, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcelle Henderer on Dec. 3, 2005 and by a sister, Marybelle Slagle in 1999.
Visitation will be held today, Jan. 27 from 12-1 p.m. at the Elkton Christian Church with a funeral following at 1 p.m. at the same location. Burial will follow the funeral at Henderer Family Cemetery.
