It was a sweet turnaround of events for the Cottage Grove Lions baseball team on Thursday. On March 26 at the Stayton Tournament, the La Salle Falcons beat the Lions 6-2. Last week the Lions had the last laugh, defeating the Falcons 6-2 in the play-in game to move into the Sweet 16 of the OSAA baseball playoffs.

Cottage Grove’s opponent is a tough one: the No. 2-ranked Henley Hornets. The Skyline League champion Hornets have been “stinging” a lot of teams this spring. Henley has a 19-0 record against 4A foes, is 25-1 overall and has shut out their opponents in 13 games. The Lions travel to Klamath Falls today to meet Henley at 4:30 and try to pull off a huge upset.
