10 pet peeves, close to home

I realize it is not quite the holiday season, but I donít mind if those who read this think Iím a grinch. Iím, sure there are some other sports fans in Cottage Grove who share the same sentiments as I do about some of the athletic habits, play, policies etc. at Cottage Grove High School. So, here it goes: my top 10 pet peeves with CGHS sports:

1. Whatís with the black uniforms? The football team in home games often wears black as the predominant colors. Just because the University of Oregon has gone way outside the box, do the Lions need to also? The volleyball unis are just as bad (see photo below). It really gets bad in volleyball when the opponent like Sisters wears the same colorless attire, except of course one of the school colors for Sisters is black. Blue and gold is regal and a great combination. You can do all you want with the style of the uniforms, but black is not CGís color. Whoís running the program? It appears itís the ďinmates.í
