Terry Toureen, 67, of Cottage Grove died March 24, 2013 from cancer.
He was born July 2, 1945 in Bremerton, Wash. to Harold and Evelyn (Alexander) Toureen.
On Nov. 27, 1969 in Cottage Grove, he and Lana Woody were married.
Terry was a self-employed contract welder who fixed heavy equipment on dirt spreads in seven western states. He worked with Ames Construction for the final seven years in the gold mines of Nevada. Not only was he dedicated to his work, but above all, he was a great provider.
His hobbies stayed consistent with his career. He loved riding snowmobiles and his Harley, as well as tinkering with his 1930 Model A Coupe and service truck. He always said he would go from work to dead, and that he did.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lana, two daughters, Tyran Pate and Denise Toureen, a son, Bryan Toureen, all of Cottage Grove, three sisters, Kaaren Toureen of Mt. Angel, Ore., Shannon Dimitri of Eugene, Ore., and Shelley Toureen of Florida, and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at the family residence located at 234 S. 11th St. in Cottage Grove.
Arrangements under the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
