Ralph John McKinney, 95, of Cottage Grove died March 22, 2013 from age related causes.
He was born Oct. 23, 1917 in Vandervoort, Ark. to James William and Bessie (Garrett) McKinney.
In 1938 in Arkansas, he and Drucella Brinkley were marred. They later separated. In 1956 in Stevenson, Wash., he and Edna Jewel Roberts were married.
Ralph started working in the lumber industry in Arkansas. When he moved to Cottage Grove he worked for Booth Kelly Lumber, Georgia Pacific, and Weyerhaeuser Lumber from which he retired.
He liked to work, garden and mow lawns for other people. He won Yard of the Week in Cottage Grove.
Survivors include a son, Donald McKinney of The Dalles, Ore., a stepdaughter, Laverne Huffman of Cottage Grove, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one great-great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Edna Jewel McKinney, two sons, Johnny McKinney and Dewayne McKinney and a stepson, Lloyd Thweatt.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Chapel with burial following at Fir Grove Cemetery.
