Ronald A Nauman, 72, of Cottage Grove died Jan. 24, 2010.
He was born July 9, 1937 in Eau Claire, Wisc. to Alexander and Wilhelmine (Jahr) Nauman.
Ron graduated Eau Claire Senior High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1963 as a computer specialist. He was in the 6th fleet aboard the USS Lake Champlain.
After 32 years of service, in 1992, he retired from IBM as a computer specialist.
He moved to Cottage Grove from California in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, photography and sports. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1904 in Cottage Grove for over 45 years, the American Legion, and served as District Chairman of the Meadowood Speech and Hearing Camp. He received the Elk of the Year and Officer of the Year through the B.P.O.E.
He is survived by his partner of nine years, Beverly Adams, a son, Ronald Jr. Nauman and wife, Maria, of San Diego, Calif., a daughter, Kylene Nauman and partner, Stan Sagert, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a sister, Marion Allen and husband, John, of Eau Claire, Wisc., two brothers, Marvin Nauman and wife, Bette, of Miami, Florida and Richard Nauman and wife, Karen, of Dillon, Colo., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Nauman.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.
