The Cottage Grove Police Department delivered evidence to District Attorney Bill Warnisher last week that police expect will lead to criminal charges for a former city employee.
Police Commander Scott Shepherd said he’s confident that the results of an eight-month investigation into allegations of the embezzlement of funds from the City’s utility accounts will lead to charges for the employee, who was dismissed in January after discrepancies were discovered in the accounts.
