When the founders of Bohemia Park envisioned the many uses for its space, an Easter egg hunt may not have been foremost on their minds. However, in the short history of the park, last Saturday’s egg hunt was probably the most highly attended event at the park since its opening. An estimated 1500-2000 waited anxiously for the 1 p.m. start, with close to 30,000 plastic eggs up for grabs. The 0-3 age group went first, followed by the 4-7 and 8-11 age groups.

Cottage Grove’s Living Faith Assembly orchestrated the hunt for the eighth year, a very time consuming endeavor, with members of their congregation starting the egg-stuffing back in January. The decision to move from Coiner Park to Bohemia Park appeared to be a hit for the organizers, parents and the kids.

“It’s going really well in the first year at Bohemia Park,” said Living Faith’s event leader Dawn Furtado. “I like it because it is more spread out and gives people room to breathe and not walk all over each other.”
