It was hard to tell who were more blessed…those who served or those who were being served on Thursday at the First Baptist Church’s annual free Thanksgiving dinner.
A feast of 18 turkeys and over 70 pounds of mashed potatoes plus vegetables, stuffing and pumpkin pies were very much appreciated by a total of 234 recipients.
At least four Cottage Grove churches: First Baptist, Calvary Fellowship, Trinity Lutheran and Living Faith, provided the bounty, while members of Calvary Fellowship served the meals.
“The servers were all blessed, the people said what a blessing it was for them, and for us, it was a success for our hearts,” said Pam Peltin.
