It was a tough week for three of the Cottage Grove High School varsity teams as their dreams of a playoff run ended abruptly.
The volleyball team, which finished third in the Sky-Em, received a very tough draw for the play-in game. Even though they got to host Ridgeview, the Ravens were vastly underrated and swept the Lions in three games.
The boys’ soccer team traveled all the way to Klamath Falls to take on Henley and lost 5-1. Lions head coach Brian Fish said the score was not indicative of the talent levels of the two teams, but the Hornets came out and scored quickly, while the Grovers played better in the second half, holding the Hornets scoreless.
